Forest Park or Des Peres Floodplain?

A Red-winged Blackbird on Truman's campus this fall.
In my latest column for the Index, I use the history of Forest Park in Saint Louis as a way to talk about the value of urban wetlands, and as a way to introduce my wetland bird research to the community. Also, here's the scintillating essay about Forest Park by Dr. Allen, a Wash.U. architectural historian and urban preservationist, that I cite in the column.
